FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where does the tour start?

The tour starts at the Palm Spring Visitors Center, 2901 North Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs CA (in the Albert Frey gas station with the soaring roofline). Please wait INSIDE the center and mention that you're there for Robert's tour (PS Modern Tours customers receive 10% off in the gift shop). Robert will convene the tour at the appointed time.

Do we need a reservation?

Yes. All tour goers must have a reservation. Reservations may be requested by phone or email at any time, however, no reservation is guaranteed without a return confirmation.

How much does the tour cost?

The price per-person is $75.

When do we pay?

Payment may be made by cash or check at the end of the tour. 

How many people can go on a tour?

The van seats seven passengers and one driver.

How long does the tour last

The tour takes approximately three hours.

What should I bring?

It's the desert so it's always good to have plenty of water. You may have limited opportunities for taking pictures but you're welcome to bring a camera. Otherwise, dress comfortably.

Will we go inside any houses or buildings?

The tour is a broad survey of the city's numerous significant homes, buildings and neighborhoods and is focused on exteriors. During the tour you'll learn about the various interior home tours that are offered throughout the year.

Will we see movie star homes?

Yes. You'll see and learn about homes that belonged to or were visited by Hollywood greats from the silent era through the golden age. 

Is the tour appropriate for children?

The tour is intended for anyone who has an interest in architecture and can sustain focused attention for over 2 hours.
