Basic Content of the Basic Level School Course

road

In March

1) Organization of food during the trip.

2) Topography and land navigation
(deeper, more thorough study of this topic)

3) Knots in tourism and their application
(the minimum necessary information is given during the lecture; but the practice of knots – during the training!)

4) First aid in a campaign; contents of first-aid kit
(continuation of this theme)

At the training sessions we will work out:

  • general organization of a tourist camping trip (continuation),
  • terrain orienteering (continuation),
  • moving on a slope with a self-harness with an alpenstock (continuation),
  • knots,
  • organization of the group’s movement along the route, overcoming natural obstacles,
and organization of the hiking way of life – in a 1-day or 2-day trek (depending on the possibility of organizing such a training),
  • first aid training (depending on the possibility to organize such a training session indoors),
  • various other things, possibly quite different, more complicated (depending on the trainees’ actual level of training).

Hike

Usually 1-day hikes, 2-day hikes if possible.
This is the most meaningful training option (weekend hike).

If you manage to do a long enough hike – you can consider it as a non-category hike (i.e. stepped, 1st degree, for example).

April – May – June

5) Planning a hiking trip itinerary
(i.e. how to do it in general, what to grasp, and what is necessary to pay attention to – here everything is not as obvious as it may seem at first sight!)

6) Categorization of hiking routes and obstacles

7) Report about the trip of the 1-2 к.с.

8) ensuring the safety of the tourist hike

9) actions of a tourist group in emergency situations
(minimum necessary set of information on this theme; certainly you will not become the professional rescuer after our lessons – but to go to head not difficult a campaign quite can try).

10) Organization of crossings over mountain rivers
(as training on crossings is usually in June, the lecture on this subject – in May or the beginning of June).

Preparation for the training training walk takes place according to a plan to be discussed with listeners separately.

At the trainings we work out:

  • general organization of the tourist hike (continuation),
  • terrain orientation (continuation),
  • knots (continuation),
  • organization of group movement along the route, overcoming natural obstacles, organization of camping life (we hope it will be possible to organize such a training),
  • first aid rendering in hiking conditions (we hope, there will be a possibility to organize such training, too),
  • moving on a slope with the installation of fixed ropes,
  • organization of crossings
(as a last resort, if it will not be possible in summer, we will conduct such training in September-October).

Hike

Usually there are 2-day hikes as trainings.

In May and (or) summer – there is a TRAINING Hike.
What and how, where and when is fully negotiated with trainees. Even in February-March we begin to negotiate.
